I had previously purchased those glow-in-the-dark sheaths for my Wii controllers that offered a great grip.
Right now it’s not so much textured, as it is just not so glossy and slippery like the rest of the remote. My only other minor quibble is that the textured surface on the new back cover could probably stand a bit more texturing. It’s not a big deal and I’m certainly not deducting points for it. The first is that the charging pedestal is a tight fit for the remotes, and if you have the wrist-strap attached (as you should) you have to push pretty hard to get the remote seated in the charging stand. I only have two very minor issues with the entire setup. This new cover not only has a no-slip surface to improve your grip, it also has the two metal contacts required to recharge the battery inside. You’ll also need to replace the standard back cover that came with your Wii remote with the one provided with each battery pack.
Simply connect the charging stand to your Wii with the supplied USB cable then replace those AA batteries with the rechargeable battery pack. The best thing about the Wii Remote Charging Dock is just how easy it is to get setup.
